PHSC 40102 - The Physical Sciences: Integrated Approach

This is an introductory course that uses an inquiry approach to help students gain an understanding of the scientific process and how science relates to the real world. This is accomplished through the study of selected topics from the fields of physics, chemistry, Earth science, and astronomy. Students will be asked to use problem solving and higher order thinking skills in order to apply the concepts they have learned. A knowledge of and the ability to use simple algebra is necessary. This course is primarily designed to meet elementary and middle school teacher certification content, but it will also satisfy the physical science Northwest Core requirement.
