GEOL 27423 - Economic Geology Credit Hours: 3 A study of the origin and distribution of economic ore, critical minerals, aggregates, and energy resources (oil and gas, geothermal energy, etc.). Major ore deposits are discussed, with a focus on exploration geology, understanding inter-connected geologic processes involved in developing natural resources, mining, and various economic, environmental, social, and governance impacts.
Prerequisite(s): GEOL 27220 Recommended Prerequisite(s): GEOL 27369 GEOL 27424 Hours per week: Three one-hour lectures.
