GEOL 27369 - Igneous and Metamorphic Petrology


Credit Hours: 4
A study of igneous and metamorphic rocks including: identification (hand sample and petrography), mineral compositions, fabrics/textures, occurrences, genesis, and classifications.

Prerequisite(s): GEOL 27220  or permission of instructor.
Recommended Prerequisite(s): GEOL 27450  has traditionally been reccomended to be taken before or concurrently with Igneous and Metamorphic Petrology
Hours per week: Three one-hour lectures and one two-hour laboratory per week.
