EDCI 62108 - Introduction to Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment


Credit Hours: 2
This course builds on the experiences of students and focuses on the development of curriculum and instruction based on the unique needs of individual students and culturally responsive pedagogy.  Candidates will be introduced to national and state standards that frame curriculum development while at the same time realizing that instruction is driven by the analysis of student assessment results. Candidates will examine the foundation of assessment planning as well as the tools necessary to use assessment as the impetus for developing instruction that meets the needs of all learners.  This course requires 10 hours of field experience work.
