COM 29325 - Listening and Conflict Credit Hours: 3 An examination of listening behavior and its place in the communication process, as well as various theories and current research into the role of communication in conflict. Areas covered in this class include the major interactive and perceptual processes involved in the reception of aural data, ways to improve listening skills, the definition of conflict and its implication for communication within interpersonal, group, organizational, and societal contexts, with emphasis placed on studying individual communication styles and then developing competence in the management of conflict.
