ART 13322 - Art of the Islamic World


Credit Hours: 3
The history of art, architecture, and visual culture of the Islamic world. The course focuses on selected moments and monuments in the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and South Asia. An emphasis is placed on the relationship of visual arts to the history, geography, and traditions of each region as well as the cross-cultural connections between East and West in the development and transmission of artistic trends in Islamic art.

Prerequisite(s): ART 13109  and ART 13111  both with a minimum grade of C, or by permission of instructor for non-majors/minors.
