GEOL 27345 - Optical Mineralogy Credit Hours: 3 A study of the optical properties of non-opaque minerals through use of the petrographic (polarizing) microscopes utilizing oil immersion and thin section methods, and application of refractometry toward mineral identification.
Prerequisite(s): GEOL 27220 Hours per week: Two one-hour lectures and one two-hour lab per week.
