Agricultural Education Comprehensive Major, 63-65 hours: B.S.Ed., Secondary Program-No Minor Required (Certifies Grades 9-12)

The Major in Agricultural Education is designed to prepare teachers of agriculture for the secondary and adult levels in compliance with state certification requirements.

Note:


AGRI 03102 , AGRI 03130 , COM 29102 , PSYC 08299 , CHEM 24112  and CHEM 24113 , CHEM 24114  and CHEM 24115 : These courses fulfill a Northwest Core requirement as well as a requirement of the major, but the number of credit hours may be counted only once toward the total number of credit hours required for graduation.

Must achieve a grade of C or better in COM 29102  and PSYC 08299 .

Students must take two of the following with a minimum of one horticulture class (6 hours):


Electives (9-10 hours)


  • Advisor-approved electives in agriculture Credit Hours: 9 to 10

Degree Requirement (3 hours)


Free Electives as needed to reach minimum 120 graduation hours


Note:


This major will meet Missouri teacher certification standards for Agricultural Education grades 9-12.

Students approved to complete an accelerated undergraduate/graduate program may count a maximum of 15 hours of graduate credit toward the undergraduate program.

Students approved for the accelerated option may take EDUC 61690 Internship in Teaching in place of EDUC 61472.
