The Major in Agricultural Education is designed to prepare teachers of agriculture for the secondary and adult levels in compliance with state certification requirements.

Required Courses (37 hours)
Students must take two of the following with a minimum of one horticulture class (6 hours):
Choose one of the following (2-3 hours):
Electives (9-10 hours)
- Advisor-approved electives in agriculture Credit Hours: 9 to 10
Required Courses in Agricultural Education (10 hours)
Degree Requirement (3 hours)
Professional Education Requirements (28 hours)
Free Electives as needed to reach minimum 120 graduation hours
Professional Education and Content Certification Courses (Required by DESE)
Note:
This major will meet Missouri teacher certification standards for Agricultural Education grades 9-12. Students approved to complete an accelerated undergraduate/graduate program may count a maximum of 15 hours of graduate credit toward the undergraduate program. Students approved for the accelerated option may take EDUC 61690 Internship in Teaching in place of EDUC 61472 . |
