Major Requirements (27 hours)

Note:

MATH 17117  or MATH 17120 : These courses fulfill a Northwest Core requirement as well as a requirement of the major, but the number of credit hours may be counted only once toward the total number of credit hours required for graduation.

Math Electives to satisfy certification requirements (6 hours minimum)

While you need a total of 9 elective hours, 6 of those must be taken within this list of courses.

Additional Math Electives (3 hours)

To complete the total of 9 elective hours required, choose one course not already taken in this list. (This list has a few additional options than the previous math electives list that contained courses that met certification requirements.)

Professional Education Requirements

See Secondary Education Program Requirements

Students must take MATH 17580 - Methods in Secondary School Mathematics  as part of their professional education requirements.

Free electives as needed to reach minimum 120 graduation hours

This major, when completed under the B.S.Ed. Secondary Program, will meet Missouri teacher certification standards for Mathematics grades 9-12.
