BIOL 04365 - Animal Behavior Credit Hours: 4 A course that explores how and why animals act, covering topics including (but not limited to) foraging, communication, social structures, predator avoidance, and mating through lenses of evolution, genetics, ecology, and neurobiology. Students apply scientific methodology in the study of animal behavior and learn to understand the interplay of innate and learned behaviors, ultimately enhancing their ability to interpret animal interactions and promote animal welfare.
Prerequisite(s): BIOL 04114 and BIOL 04115 with grades of C or better. Hours per week: 3 hours of lecture and 2 hours of lab per week.
