MATH 17227 - Math in the Elementary School


Credit Hours: 3
In this course, candidates will learn strategies and skills necessary for the instruction of Mathematics in the elementary school with an emphasis on developing a positive student mindset, inquiry learning, conceptual understanding, and strategies to evaluate instructional materials. Content will focus on counting, number sense, base ten system, number and operations, measurement, and early fraction understanding.

Prerequisite(s): MATH 17171 , EDCI 62108 EDCI 62116 , and EDCI 62225   (or concurrently) each with a grade of C or better.
