GEOL 27212 - Historical Geology Credit Hours: 4 This course employs a study of deep time, important rock units, plate tectonics and the fossil and stratigraphic records to illuminate the physical and biological evolution of Earth. Special emphasis is placed on the formation and subsequent physical evolution of North America, and the origin and evolution of life as understood from evidence in the fossil record (fauna and flora).
Prerequisite(s): GEOL 27110 and GEOL 27111 or GEOL 27114 and GEOL 27115 . Hours per week: Three hours of lecture and a two-hour laboratory.
