EDCI 62441 - Early Childhood Leadership and Program Management


Credit Hours: 3
This course provides teacher candidates with foundational and advanced knowledge of the legal and ethical aspects of early childhood education, including resumes and interviewing, regulations, accreditation standards, program development, and evaluation including educator evaluation. Emphasis is placed on leadership responsibilities, professional ethics, special education considerations, and effective classroom and behavior management practices integrating social and emotional learning. Through critical inquiry and applied learning, candidates will explore how early childhood curriculum philosophies and behavioral guidance approaches align with policies and procedures essential to operating and managing high-quality early childhood programs. Additionally, students will engage in research-based inquiry to strengthen their understanding of educational leadership and program improvement.
