EDCI 62426 - Curriculum and Assessment Grades K-3 Credit Hours: 3 Candidates will develop a comprehensive knowledge of curriculum, systematic instruction, and assessment specific to kindergarten through third grade. Emphasis is placed on designing and implementing integrated, developmentally appropriate learning experiences that promote meaningful connections across content areas. Candidates will explore and apply principles of differentiated learning and instruction to meet the diverse needs, strengths, and interests of all children in inclusive classroom settings. State learning standards will be utilized in the development, design, analysis, and implementation of instructional plans. Candidates will design, analyze, and interpret assessment data, with a particular focus on literacy-based assessment and intervention, to make informed instructional decisions that support each child’s growth and learning. The course integrates music, movement, art, and drama as essential modalities for expression, engagement, and learning, encouraging candidates to create dynamic, culturally responsive, and creative classroom environments that nurture the whole child.
