ENGL 10111 - Composition I: Writing in Academic Contexts Credit Hours: 3 MOTR Equivalent: MOTR ENGL 100
Study and practice in reading and writing texts towards development of college-level academic literacies. Students will engage through writing and reading in knowledge-based inquiry and sustained critical thinking for the purpose of better understanding writing as a skill and a subject of study. Concepts taught will include: genre awareness, academic rhetoric, research and documentation, and use of technology as it relates to writing.
Recommended Prerequisite(s): A grade of C or better in ENGL 10110 or a score of at least 40 in the Directed Self Placement questionnaire.
