HIST 33386 - The Pacific Rim


Credit Hours: 3
The course examines the history of East Asian development with emphasis on the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Following an introduction to the origins of Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Southeast Asian cultures, the course assesses conflict along the Pacific Rim driven by historically rooted tensions and especially European influence.
